Visiting Tokyo is probably every traveller’s dream, especially if they like anime, manga, gadgets, quirky fashion, temples, beautiful landscapes, and Japanese food.

1. Tokyo Disneyland

Opened in 1983, Tokyo Disneyland is the most popular child-friendly attraction in Tokyo. Featuring rides, attractions, shows, and parades that will delight visitors regardless of age and size. Recommended activities for the whole family include watching the Happiness is Here Parade and Dreamlights Parade, and taking a self-guided tour inside Cinderella Castle. Opened in 2001, the theme park has an amazing lineup of attractions and you would probably need at least two days to enjoy all of them. The top-rated Disneysea offerings that your whole family will surely enjoy include Big Band Beat, Fantasmic, Journey to the Center of the Earth, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Fortress Explorations, Tower of Terror, Sinbad’s Storybook Voyage, and India Jones Adventure: Temple of the Crystal Skull.

3. Ueno Park

A must-visit tourist attraction you should include in your Tokyo itinerary is Ueno Park. The 300-acre park features museums, temples, shrines, art galleries, a theatre, and the Ueno Zoo. Your kids will without doubt love animals at the zoo, especially the giant pandas, elephants and tigers. There are also plenty of open green spaces for outdoor play.

4. Ghibli Museum

Another family-friendly place in Tokyo that will fascinate your kids is the Ghibli Museum, a museum that features the amazing works of Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation studio. Designed by the renowned Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki, the museum is where your kids can immerse themselves in the world of animation and film. Aside from the numerous exhibits, the museum also features a theatre, café, bookstore, and rooftop garden.

5. Tokyo Fire Museum

Visiting the Tokyo Fire Museum is one of the most interesting stops you’ll make in the city. The interactive displays will keep your kids entertained and provide a lot of information about crime prevention, including a little bit about firefighting history and the latest technologies.
